Susan Shaffer, MSW, LSW

Susan Shaffer, MSW, LSW works with children, adolescents, parents, and families, offering a compassionate and systems-focused approach to care. Her work is informed by family systems theory and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), helping individuals and families make sense of behavior through a relational and developmental lens. She integrates embodiment and mindfulness-based practices to support nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and a deeper mind–body connection. She also enjoys working with adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, and depression, and supporting them in developing healthier communication patterns.

Susan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development from the University of Akron and her Master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. With more than 15 years of experience supporting children and families in school settings, in ministry as a children’s pastor, and as a mother of two, she brings clinical expertise alongside authentic lived experience to her work.
